Dr. Saber or Dr. Verseman

Just trying to find out any info of either of the two doctors?  Any info would be great, along with what surgery you had....

Candy,  I see that you have Dr. Foote listed as your surgeon on your profile.  I could, without any reservation, recommend Dr. Foote -or- Dr. Kemmeter (my surgeon).  Both are extremly skilled, and I have witnessed their results time after time with other patients (as well as the great success I have had).  In my research, and in my opinion, these two surgeons rank with the greatest.

I had the DS, 10+ months ago, and have been extremely pleased with the results and the post-op lifestyle.  I know Dr. Saber does the Lapband, RnY, and VSG, but has not advanced to the DS (much more complicated surgery than any of the others and takes special training -- very few surgeons perform the DS for this reason, and we are fortunate to have two excellent DS surgeons in G.R.).

I don't know anyone personally who has used Dr. Verseman, but his credentials are certainly impressive.  Again, Lapband, RnY, and VSG only.  If one of these are you choice for WLS, then both of these guys seem to offer what you need.

I notice that both are in the Kazoo area; please don't let the fact that Foote & Kemmeter are in G.R. steer you away from them -- especially if you are considering or want the DS.

Actually, I have been through all the hoops for surgery, just keep getting denied by insurance... and I LOVE Dr. Foote and Dr. Kemmeter---my dad and Uncle both had Dr. Kemmeter for their lapband. 

Only reason I'm looking is that kalamazoo is A LOT closer than Grand Rapids, and if I have the lapband and have to go back to get filled, K-zoo is much more convenient...  My dad and Uncle have to travel to GR and it's a pain....

I would stick with the Grand Rapids docs!  Dr foote did my initial surgery and my gallbladder and Dr. Baker did my schlerotherapy!  All of the docs there are the bomb!  And the docs in Kzoo just haven't been at this as long as the GR docs!

I had the lap band done a month ago with Dr. Verseman.  He is absolutely wonderful... very nice man.  He has an excellent record and he has been doing these surgerys for quite a long time.  He came from the Chicago area, I believe ,before he came to Kalamazoo area.   I really can't say enough good things about him and his office staff.  I have been very, very pleased with my decision to choose him.  Hope this info helps!
