ULCER AGAIN! & MORE!
Hello,
It's been a rough week. Most of you know my dh is ill and needs a liver transplant. We had an appt. Tuesday at the U of MI and basically were told that Steve has only about 2-3 months more unless he gets a new liver. He is on the list, in the "top ten" and we are hoping we hear some good news very soon.
As for me, Friday night was spent at the hospital. I have another stomach/pouch ulcer. Fortunately, the pain I was having was so severe that it got me to go to the ER early enough so that any blood loss was minimal so I did not need any transfusions. Like the last time (Feb. 2006) I will be on several meds over the next few months to heal. Strange thing with my first ulcer I had no pain, just felt quite tired but had no clue that anything was wrong until I began passing blood. I'll see Dr. Foote on Thursday for an endoscopy.
If one more person (like the drs at the hospital) tells me to "try not to get so stressed" I just may hit them. People that make stupid suggestions like that have no idea what life has been like for me/us these last few years since Steve became ill.
Please hold us in your thoughts and prayers.
Pam

Pam, I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. You and Steve will be in my prayers. I hope that they find a liver for him very soon. Of course you're stressed!!! I went through the horrible waiting for a transplant with my mom, and I know how terrifying it is to watch a loved one continue to get sicker and sicker and feel so powerless. My mom finally got her liver. She had unforseen complications afterwards, so the ending for us was not happy. But, I am a huge supporter of organ donation, and I can't help but wonder if things would have turned out differently had she not had to wait so long. I encourage everyone I know to check that organ donation box on the back of their driver's license and tell their loved ones. I'm praying so hard for your husband and for you. Please do your best to take care of yourself, sweetie!!
- I will learn to let go what I cannot change, but I will change whatever I can. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
Have you taken your vitamins today?
Pam,
I am sorry to hear that you are having pouch problems and ulcers. You have and continue to go through some pretty trying times and I pray that the donor is found quickly. I wish I had a magic potion that could "ease' your stress, and I do feel for you when people say, you need to stop being stressed- as if you have a choice about it.. I am sure none of us would choose to be stressed if given he choice. Continuing to send positive prayers your way....
Remember: you need to take care of yourself .
God Bless.
