Kalamazoo Area Groups

Is there anyone from the Kalamazoo Area?  Any patients of Dr. Saber?

Hi,

I'm a patient of Dr. Saber. I have my RNY on 11/20. I went to one support group in August at Borgess, but haven't been back since. I really want to go, but am not sure when they are. Guess I need to make some calls.

How long have you had a surgery date?  I have finished all my tests and all the info has been given to Dr Saber a few weeks back.  I am still waiting to hear.  Do I just continue to be patient??

i am from Kalamazoo, Dr Verseman though.  Bronson has support group third thursdays of every month you can findShannon info on their website

Glad to hear that.  I had my paperwork sent to Dr. Verseman.  Someone told me there was a support group and it wouldn't hurt to start going now before the surgery.

Borgess does offer a support group the i believe its the Second Tuesday of the month and then the 3rd saturday of the month...i have been attending the 3rd saturday of the month one due to my job being second shift...its from 9-10:30on  saturday but i am not sure what time the tuesday nite one is...
the group meetings are held at the Borgess health and fitness Center next door too the KCMH building on Gull Road...

Thanks for the info on the Borgess meeting. The last one that I went to, there was arguing between two members and it was quite uncomfortable for me. Guess I will try again.

Tommye - I called the coordinator at Dr Saber's office to find out when they submitted my file to the insurance company. Then I gave it one week and started calling the insurance company to find out results. That's how I found out I'd been approved (it took them about 8 days). So, no, I wasn't very patient. heh.
