Yes you can get life insurance after WLS surgery

When I was in Michigan and a member of this board, I remember that people were disappointed that they could not get life insurance.  Last weekend, at the OH conference here in Phoenix, there was an insurance company who will cover WLS patients at a standard rate anytime after 25 months out or for a slightly higher rate from 6 months out. 

The girl at the desk was 28 months out of WLS surgery (looking great BTW) and showed her actual quotes for $500,000 life insurance and the rate was spectacular.  She and her boss had done some research and found a company who will cover WLS patients because they know that most of the problems that came with obesity were eliminated with the weight loss.

I am NOT a salesperson for this company.  I just wanted to give you a source to check out on your own.  He is checking into life insurance for me.  Right now I'm paying an outrageous amount for $250,000 worth of term life insurance because I got it when I was 1 year out and they have me at a very high rate.

I truly believe more companies should provide life insurance to WLS patients because we now are among the most healthy people around.  Why are they still overcharging us?
