MMPC people - Did you get your letter???!!

WTH? I was just there on Thursday and NOT WORD ONE was mentioned that the surgeons were breaking off of MMPC. I found out today when I got a letter saying that Jeffrey Gowel (I'm assuming he is the Inter nest's relative) is taking over the bariatric program at MMPC and that Kemmeter, Foote and Baker have their own practice now.

I am blown away at this info. I am not loyal to MMPC exactly, but I now have to figure out if my insurance will authorize me seeing Dr Baker anymore before I can sign and return the medical record release form.

I can't believe nothing was mentioned on Thursday.

Got my letter today also.  I will be continuing on with Dr. Foote but dont know now if the appt I have in October will have to be rescheduled or did they just transfer everything over.  I also have a lab slip for the results to be sent to MMPC.  Guess they wil have to rewrite that.  Guess monday they will be getting alot of calls.  Oh crap I just reread the letter and this doesn't take effect until November.  Sometimes it pays to read.  Is Kentwood on the east side of Grand Rapids? 

Yes. Kentwood is the SE area there.  28th St & Patterson, E.  Paris, etc.  MMPC is very close to being considered that area. At least is isn't over by Rivertown Crossings (then again, shucks!  It would give me an excuse to go shopping. LOL)

i just got my letter in the mail today after reading this post, i decided to go get the mail...

Something MAJOR musta went down... i seen Karen Gawal and didnt like her all that much-- it would be interesting to know what woulda happened to make them leave--nothing was said to me either when i was there few weeks ago...

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.  I rechecked my appt and it is scheduled for 11-24.  I have three appts that day.  Guess I will be calling first thing monday morning. 
Two years ago my friend had the RNY done by Dr. Foote and at that time they were in Holland, 

I got my letter today too. I will stay with Dr. Baker, I hope all is the same with my insurance also.  Makes ya kinda wonder what happened.

I heard about this back in July at a MMPC support group meeting - so it wasn't a sudden decision - they just must have waited to tell everyone officially.
