WARNING ABOUT SURGEON

I USED MARK PLEATMAN THREEE YEARS AGO HE ALMOST KILLED ME. i WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR OVER 1 MONTH AND DESPERATELY ILL FOR THE FOLLOWING 9 MONTHS. BE WARNED THIS WAS NOT A REGULAR COMPLICATION OF SURGERY IT WAS BAD SURGERY.

I too almost died from my RNY surgery, but never bashed the surgeon for it.  You shouldn't put messages up like this without more details on how Dr. Pleatman performed a bad surgery and what he did that was so wrong.  Other patients who are looking into his practice might want to know what he did wrong.

I am interested in the facts as well as what he did wrong, by being careless.  There is always a risk with every surgery.  People do make mistakes unintentionally. 

What type of WLS did you have?  What is a puristic wave?  What did he connect upside down?  This does not make any sense to me.  Was there a trial where he was actually found guilty or did the insurance just settle?  Also the first thing you say he did wrong was to perform the surgery when you didn't meet the minimum weight requirements but remember you are the one that was looking for a surgeon to do surgery.  You knew you didn't meet the requirements.  I am not a health professional but how does air in your abdomen cause you to be septic.

If you are interested in what this person has to say about their surgeon, why don't you PM them? 

They are obviously upset and I'm sure you'll get more information this way then a bunch of cryptic posts that are just taking up space.

To the original poster:  Get your facts together so you can present them to others in a concise manner.  I totally understand that you went through a traumatic experience and want to share it with others.  I'm sure you knew there were going to be questions.  I encourage you to correspond with those people one on one.  Also, don't let people bully you.  If you are stating facts, then present them as such. Sometimes WLS patients are very defensive and don't want to hear what others have to say.

Oh its Brenda..the voice of reason. So many people come here for answers, even the answers they should ask their Dr's not us. I did not even have Dr Pleatman and felt bad for him. And what I hear  very good things about him. I feel very bad for the woman that this happened too but 3 years later? give me a break. No  on one will know the details unless the case is open to the public. . In the last 3 years he has preformed 100 of surgeries and this person sat back and let it happen. I call that selfish.If you would like to call me a bully free free....I f your going to put a huge statement up here....back it up...anything wrong with that? or is that being a bully?
If your going to put the time and effort into having surgery that will alter body forever you better damn well know what your doing before hand.
When a person will ask if they can eat something after their surgery, in my mind...they are not ready for it. people that complain about the liquid diet before hand an how they are having a hard time sticking to it? do you think they are ready? I speak to many per op patent's to get a prospective on how they feel. Once someone can rap tere head around what weight loss surgery will do. The way the post was a done was ridiculous and childish amd could have been handled in a very different way. oh..and I am done with my lecture,!

Oh my gosh!  This is off topic but I was thinking of it today...
We used to have a few people on here that would post like 10 days after surgery that they are sick and they only had a Wendy's cheeseburger so why are they feeling bad??  UGH!

And hey, who u calling the voice of reason!  I don't want that getting out! 

I am just curious that if you knew you didn't meet the requirements why did you go to see him in the first place?   

I am not saying this is or isn't true what happened to you, i am just asking the question....
