Rough night and a few food questions for MMPC'ers

UGH!!!!! I am not feeling like I shouldnt have done this, but it hurts and I am sick of arguing with my dh about stupid stuff!!! He is sick too, so that it not helping!!

I know I am not eating enough, but I dont think I feel hungry. I know I should still eat, but nothing tastes good!!! And I am afraid of overeating and vomiting!! The one thing I do not want to do is vomit!! I am not getting enough to drink either, same thing I am afraid of overdoing it.

Any MMPC'ers out there that had issues getting even their 4 points down??

I wish I could help but I did not go through MMPC... almost did, but I didn't.....

I know what you mean about being afraid of overeating.... Don't eat until you are full.. just eat until you KNOW you should eat.... As long as you are getting in your protein, your water and your vitamins you should be just fine, keep track of what you are intaking and make sure you are getting enough....  Focus on those proteins when you eat....  I need to practice what I preach though... LOL....  Stay focused, keep your eye on the prize and keep in mind of your health and fitness... You will do just fine....

Take care and keep us posted on how things are going....

I know I am not getting in enough protein. They give us 4 points of food a day and that covers your protein...I am only getting in about 2.

I think I am going to call the office tomorrow and see if I can start the protein drinks. Those I actually did like.

Hi, I went through MMPC and also had Dr. Foote for my surgery in August!! Post op, I did mainly the mmpc jello, ready to drink and the cold drinks. I focused mostly on the protein, because I came home 9 lb heavier due to lots of IV fluids, so I figured dehydration wasn't much of a danger. I still have a hard time with the fluids, I don't think I've gotten much over 40-45 oz., but Dr. Foote wasn't concerned.
Hang in there, there were plenty of times I thought I didn't care if I never put anything in my mouth again. Good luck to you.

If I remember correctly they only want you on the prepackaged drinks for the first two weeks.  and lots of water.  You can get in the four packages each day and that is your 60 grams of protein.  You may not be able to get all the water each day but try your best.  Good luck

No, I bought the Unjury at my 2 week post op checkup. It's $20 there and no shipping. Vanilla is pretty yummy, strawberry is so-so...

Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the losers bench.

I only vomited twice and that was on pain meds while still in the hospital.

I considered getting my protein and water in my full time job for the first 2 weeks.  I still do it but don't have to consider it my full time job.  :-)  I guess my advice would be to sip, sip , sip.  Constantly have the protein drink or plain water with you.  It is nearly impossible with VSG to get it ALL in right now but you just have to work hard on it so you don't get dehydrated.  Eventually it will come and you will get it all in.  As long as you "sip" your sleeve shouldn't rebel on you.  :-)  I had to be careful not to gulp.  I did it once and it hurt but I did not vomit.

I wish you the best in this journey!  It is a great one!!!

Thanks Laura I really appreciate it!!!! I will have to remember to keep my water by me. I have been putting it away after about a 1/2 hour because I didnt want to overdue it.
