Hello and file question

Hello,

I am new to the board (and new to Michigan, for that matter). Moved here from San Diego one year ago. After 45 years in S.D., it was quite a change. But I like it.

I am waiting for approval for RNY from Tricare. I have two young daughters (5 and 7), raise horses, and work from home doing home loans. Life is busy, but boy am I lucky.

Somebody mentioned in another thread that pre-op people could start collecting recipes, suggestions, etc and keep them in a file. What a great idea!!!  Has anybody kept an electronic file/list of things that could be emailed or posted to get a newbie started on her non-existent file? Just a thought.

Thank you and I look forward to getting to know you all. Oh, I'm in the Middleville/Hastings area.

Shelly -

Welcome to Michigan!  So glad you found our forum here.

I just posted on my blog my own collection of recipes, medical quick references and a mish-mash of stuff I've put together over the past year or so.  I call it my protein book.  I also just figured out how to post a file on my blog and let others download it... so here's the link if you're interested:

My Protein Book

I also have a post on my blog with a list of a bunch of stuff you can do to prepare for surgery.  Everything from research and reading to cleaning out the pantry and getting rid of the "bad food" in the house.  Here's the link:

Good luck with your journey!

Wow, thanks Pam and Randy! I will do searches online. Also, I'm going to visit your blog this weekend, Pam. Was it easy to set up a blog? I'd love to do something like that.

I love the seasons here. The leaves are so beautiful! I never saw orange and red leaves back home. The snow is...interesting. I didn't mind it too much, except when I had to muck out eight horse stalls and the poop piles were frozen. Oh, the things I learned last Winter. Also, you must blow the water out of your hose really well, or you'll be lugging that thing up to the house to defrost. Having horses in the Winter was a lot of work, but it was pretty.

Thanks for the welcome,
Shelly
