Any VSGers from MI???
I was just wondering how many people here in MI have had the Sleeve Gastrectomy. I am scheduled fot this coming Monday in Florida and am psyched and nervous at the same time. I know I am in great hands and it will change my life so much. I have lost 19 pounds in 10 days on the pre op liquid diet, so some of my old clothes are fitting which is awesome. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I would love to hear how other VSGers are doing.
Hi Michael
I don't get to the boards that often anymore but I was sleeved in January and as of now I am just about 5 pounds from my goal weight (weight at surgery: 210 Current weight 120)
My weight loss has been pretty steady but I also wasn't a 'scale watcher'. I paid more attention to my clothing getting looser and changes with the tape measure. I also starting exercising consistently at about 4 months post op and this has also helped tremendously.
I can eat most anything except I keep bread and rice to a minimum since it REALLY makes me physically uncomfortable even after I eat a moderate amount.
I wish you the best! Good luck .
Marissa

Wow its getting close! Will we see you on Saturday? If not, good luck and congratulations all in one!
Anyways, I couldn't be happier about my choice of the sleeve. Last I checked a couple days ago, I am down 52 lbs. since surgery a little over two months ago. I have had no food intolerances and am able to eat anything in small quantities. (Well maybe I shouldn't say anything, as I haven't tested the waters with bread or pasta yet, although did tolerate a tiny bite of rice.)
I am sure that you will do awesome with this tool and I look forward to seeing your progress, as you are the only other real-life sleevester I've met!

Michael,
I son't post often, but I am a sleevester from Michigan. White Lake in fact, not too far from you. I had my surgery on April 9th and as of today at the doctor visit, I am down 92 pounds. My doc mostly does DS surgeries and I am his test case. He is not too sure that I will succeed, but I am bound to prove him wrong. So far the food thing is going well. Most things are tolerated except dry chicken and scrambled eggs. I still have great restriction which is a plus for me.
Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted.

Hi Michael-I was sleeved 3/25/08 and am down 77lbs! This surgery saved my life. I didn't realize how sick I was untill now. I am off 3 blood pressure meds for uncontrolled hypertension, a sugar pill, my cpap, and meds for osteo-arthritis. I only take supplements now and I know what healthy feels like. It feels fabulous!!!!!
Enjoy the journey! It is awesome!!!!!!
