OT -- Good Restaurants around Detroit ?!?!
Hi All,
I am a Chicagoean crashing your board! I hope you can help me ?
I am going to be visiting the Detroit (Southfield / Dearborn) area this coming weekend. It's kinda my "honeymoon".
I have been digging and digging for some good restaurants and am coming up short....
I LOVE to eat (heh heh.... I know, bad to say on OH!). Can you reccommend some good places? Diners ? Something Unique ? Something with good hearty food ? (No chains!)

If you go into Detroit itself, in Greektown, there is Pegasus and Pizza Papalis. In the Dearborn area, Cheli's Chili is pretty decent (kind of a sports bar). If you go into Livonia or Novi, there are a ton of places. In Novi, I really like Bonefish Grill. Also in Dearborn, there is The Big Fish, but I haven't eaten there, but everyone says it's great. In Ann Arbor (20 mins west of Dearborn) there are a bunch of places also. Just go down main street and take your pick!
I stumbled upon Bonefish Grill and liked their menu a lot. I will have to look up The Big Fish too.
We might spend an extra day so I need to have my food-map prepared. Funny how one of my favorite parts of travelling is trying the food!
Maybe we'll go to Greektown for lunch one day too!

Awesome! Thanks for the info.... and I LOVE fried. I only absorb 20% of the fat I eat so fried foods are my friend ! (As is anything dipped in butter!)
I'll have to try wolf fish... I love different types of fish. Although Sea Bass is my favorite... hopefully I won't have to choose!
I looked up Big Fish too... it looks okay but I like the "local" feel of Bonefish better!

If you're going to be in Southfield, you should check out the Beverly Hills Grill. http://beverlyhillsgrill.com/
It is a lovely restaurant with delicious, gorgeous, and unique menu items. Everything and anything I've ever had there is divine. Its really something you shouldn't miss if you are going to be right there! Google it to read some reviews.
