Did we give up on Morning Coffee???

Well I know I have been absent for awhile, but are we not doing morning coffee anymore. Thats what started me posting on here.

So here goes.... I don't have any coffee, I think it's gross. I do have some things I can drink, but I am undecided at the moment. I think I'm going to have some Yogurt. I haven't been posting because my job got a bit hectic and I couldn't be online as much. But I say to heck with that this week because I need some support. 

I am trying to get my recovery strategies in check and make sure I get everybody's stories before Thursday. I remember when I started here that I didn't think there was going to be a Thursday for me. I am starting to get nervous. I see myself in the OR and I get a little nervous. 

ANyway, enough of that, what are you guys doing?? Where is everybody??

I'm on vacation this week, so sitting on the couch with my laptop, drinking my coffee (I'm pre-op -so no protein in it for me!).

My brother got a boat from his FIL this weekend (the inlaws sold their "beach house" so drove the boat up from Texas for my brother/SIL - isn't that nice?!).  Anyway, going to take the boat  and my kids for a ride this am.  I LOVE going out on boats - can't wait!

Last week before the kids go back to school (oldest is starting HS - yikes!) so spending most of this week running around and enjoying time with them.

I don't know why no one has been posting coffee times... but here ya are...

I think I am just gonna have my crystal light today.  Going to the YMCA to work out and then go swimming there and also gonna go see my pcp sometime today.

The one thing I know is that if you aren't nervous you aren't normal.    Its perfectly fine to feel anxious about the whole thing.... I know it will be fine and you will be great.

And everyone needs to remember that its never to early (pre-o*****t) to make sure you are getting enough protein.   I was logging before and I realized I was only getting about 30-40 grams of protein, when we are suppose to get about double that.... I am now having protein shakes (or drinks) for breakfast and lunch then a normal person sized dinner, and I am getting about 60-70 grams of protein a day that way.  When I started doing that I automatically started feeling better.....

Good Morning Michigan,

I am done with my protien coffee, and shifting my eating schedule up a bit today.  Trying to shake things up a bit.  I am on to my giant mug of herbal tea, it is cinnimon this morning.  Then some crystal lite. 

My thoughts are with you on Thursday Shug, you will do just fine.  My recovery from my gall bladder surgery was worse than my RNY.  No kidding.

I'm Still Here I'm drinking The old stand-by and getting ready for PT on my Back. Looking foreward to this W/E and the Bridge Walk . We do it each year and this Back is not going to stop me this year. Whats your plans for the W/E ????

My big plans for the weekend is my son's 5th birthday party.  Has to have a pinata.  Plan on filling it with some things other than solid candy. 

Other than that, it is sit back and relax and enjoy the long weekend.  Hubby has to work so we are not going anywhere.

You know, if someone posts a coffee thread in the morning, they always get a reply.  It's getting those lurkers on here to take the inititive and post something!

I'm drinking smar****er this morning and just ate a nasty protein bar.  Ick.  I tried to make protein ice cream this weekend but it ended up tasting like donkey spit.  I am going to have to give up the AnyWhey and find a good vanilla powder I suppose.

Back to work.......I have to do something to keep me from eating.  Just an FYI for those of you that think you're going to have surgery and never want to eat again...... this morning I had a bowl of low sugar oatmeal and later a big Kashi protein bar (which is supposed to be a meal replacement) and 3 bottles of water.  I'm so hungry right now I could scream!  My stomach is gurgling and I'm thinking of eating the yogurt I brought for lunch right now.  Some days I eat all day and never get full.

I have had the same problem lately.  I am craving comfort foods, I guess its stress at work and the weather turning cool. 

I did have a couple bites of spigetti yesterday.  I can honestly say, it's the first time that I have felt overfull in a while.  I can honestly say I didn't like the feeling.  Should have stuck with the meatballs and salad.   On the other side of the coin, it was almost 5 hours before I wanted my evening snack, instead of my usual 2.5 to 3 hours.

I haven't tried to make the protein ice cream yet, but did make some sugar free chocolate ice cream.  It was really good.  I may try it this weekend.  What flavor did you make?   Tina

I tried to make strawberry cheesecake and blueberry.  I also tried lemon sorbet tonight (no protein).  I'm using my new Cuisinart ice cream maker, but everything just stays liquid.  I think the problem may be I'm using 1% milk.  Anyone have any suggestions?  (Of course I'm following the mfg. instructions on how to use it).

So far I've wasted 5 scoops of protein powder and a ton of fruit making crap!!
