Any Yoopers out there?
Greetings to All Fellow Michiganders! I have been using Obesity Help for information and support for a little while now, but just realized during the past week that there is actually a Michigan section...silly me
Wondering if any Yoopers, or others, have had RNY at Marquette General with Dr. Wayne English...any feedback is welcom...my surgery is on Wednesday (8-27).

Good Morning,
I did not have my surgery with Dr. English (he was not in Marquette when I had mine done) but I do attend his support group meetings. Many of the people I know have had surgery with him and are doing very well. He actually attended a meeting in our town a couple of months ago so I got to meet him personally and seems very personable and quite knowledgable. My daughter had lapband surgery in July in Traverse City but will get her fills with him during the winter. I think he is a great asset to the Upper Peninsula and those who need surgery. I think you have made a good choice.

Helllo! Thank you for your response. How have you been doing over the past two years? Maybe I will get to meet you at a support group meeting. Do you go to Marquette for it? I was going to attend via teleconference from Escanaba, but it is currently not being facilitated in Escanaba. How is your daughter doing with the lapband? Renee
Hello, what a cold morning we have ,37 degrees.Answering your question ,I had Dr Kemmerling, he was just great and his staff was awesome.I am satisfied with where I am after 5 years,I have gained a little weight back but thats normal.I was wearing a size 22 when I had surgery, I'm in a size 12 now.The smallest size I could wear was a size 8 but mostly 10.IThere are still certin foods I can't eat, spaghetti or rice still makes me sick and I mean sick! I don't live to far from you,I'm near Norway.Have a great day.
