5 days post op
well I am 5 days out from a RNY. It has been quite an experience. At this point, I don't feel capable of saying if it is positive or negative.
Things I need help with:
1. Did anyone else have expolsive diarrhea? I really am, although it is decreasing right now. I pray that this isn't what others have talked about as "gas"
2. I don't have and never had0 any nausea. How do i know when I have drank too much at one time?
3. how do you get the nifty little "ticker" under your post that says --pounds losyt and such?
thanks---
April
Congrats on your surgery April... Things will get better as each day passes... I know I had a rough time in the beginning too wondering if I had done the right thing or not... I am so thankful that I did it though, it saved my life.... I don't have any answers for you on the other stuff, sorry I can't help you there... Keep us posted on how you are doing....

Congrats and welcome to the losers bench. I think the first week - 10 days was the hardest for me. Of course many of us have those questions if this was positive or negative, just wait it's worth it!!!
1) Sorry can't help you there -- could be just the body getting used to things again. Log what it is that you're eating and try to find if there's a correlation between food and diarrhea. I promise that isn't what we talk about when we talk about "gas" -- and mine didn't hit until about 6-7 months post-op. You'll know it when you get it!!!
2) Great, hopefully you don't get any nausea!! With your above problem make sure that you're drinking lots!!! Your body needs it. Sip, sip, sip. Your body will let you know, most of us don't have trouble drinking water.
3) The ticker thing, maybe do a search. I found it pre-op and then never bothered to start using it.
Again, hang in there. Things get easier every day. It's still a long road, but next summer you'll be saying "wow, a year ago I couldn't have done x, y, or z!!" On the road of life, this will feel like a very quick, ever changing (for the positive) time.
