Thursday Morning Toast!
No, silly, not like bread toast......I'm raising my glass of iced tea to toast you guys!!
How's everyone doing today? I'm pretty good considering the babysitter we took forever to find just quit to go to school full time. Here we go again........
Just a little personal stuff....I have started using fitday again to track everything I am eating. I was convinced it wouldn't work for me because I have a tendency to "forget" to add everything I've eaten. It's only been 2 days, but so far so good. I realized last night that I had only eaten 800 cals with 36g of protein. So I had a mini protein shooter and a slice of lf cheese. Hopefully this, along with working out, will allow me to lose some poundage before I go for plastics in the winter.
For those of you that exercise regularly-I can't believe how resistant my body is to exercise! It's been 4 months of going to the gym at least 3 days a week and I'm making small strides. I didn't "work out" last weekend because I was on vacation. Went back to the gym on Tuesday and I felt like I was starting from square one. That machine that I was doing 25 minutes on kicked my butt after 11 minutes! It amazes me how quickly my body falls back in to lazy fat girl mode.

You are tough. I can't go to a gym and use the equipment. I do go for my Judo class however.
Good to get back on track.
I have been spending the week fixing all the stuff I broke during the first week of summer.
I also took over my oldest kids room and made a music studio out of it as he left the building.
Headaches are gone thanks to better living through chemestry and I start my rehab for my CHI next week. It will take me the good part of a year but they say I should get my left side back.

"Go sell crazy somewhere else; we're all stocked up here."
Salut! There, that's my toast.
I know what you mean about fitday. It's easy to think we're eating too much. I started doing fitday, too and some days I surprised myself with how few calories I was actually getting.
We also started back to the gym recently. My husband is the kinda guy who once he starts going to the gym, wants to go EVERYDAY. Me, not so much. LOL! I have been going 4 times a week, though, but it's a struggle to get there each day. But once I'm there, I'm good. Nothing's better than a soak in the hot tub after a work out!
We'll see how I feel after Labor Day and my return to work. Fortunately, for me, we ride to work together, so he'll keep me going, whether I want to or not!
Sorry about the babysitter situation. I know you had a hard time finding that one to begin with! Good luck on the search...again.
Try to enjoy your day! Will I see you tomorrow?

So here's a glimpse of my morning. This "journey" to get WLS is unbelievable. It's like people come out of the woodwork to tell you how hard they've tried to lose weight, or exercise, or stories of their "friends"..
I had a dr appt today – just the monthly weigh in to meet ins. reqs. The doc is fine, but the nurse – argh! I go into the exam room and she asks me why they’re monitoring my weight. I told her it was a requirement to have weight loss surgery. Then she goes into a story of a friend of hers who had the surgery, but gained all her weight back. “did you know that can happen?” she asked. While I was nodding (and trying not to roll my eyes), she starts talking about her friend eating bugles (the little corn chip things) and that the friend got a bugle stuck in the smaller opening to her stomach and needed a procedure to get it unstuck… She finishes with that story and asks whether I’ve ever tried exercise to lose weight. WTF? - ah, yeah. She goes on to say that she’s “walked off 15 lbs” and walking can be really good exercise… “I want to get me one of those Olympic speed walker trainers because those olympic speed walkers are really in shape (gee, ya think?). The best was when she started telling me about her “add ons” to her current “speed walking”. She doesn’t only walk really, really fast, but she also throws in some lunges and shuffles to the right and left. Then she does arm lifts while she walks. I’m not sure I didn’t say, “you must look like a f**ing idiot” out loud…
Then I had to weigh in at weigh****chers - again with the reqs. Gained 5lbs last week and only 1 this week - yippee! Last week the crab at the scale gave me a "stern talking to" so there was no way I was going in her line again. Today's lady was a little nicer. She looked at me, looked at my weight, looked at me again and said in her most helpful tone, "is there anything we can do to help you?". "Nope!" I said, " I'm just here to please the ins. company!"
Have appts w/the bariatric coordinator and dietitician tomorrow....

Sorry you are having such a bad day, or at least having to deal with these types of people, but the "speed walking" story cracked me.
I’m not sure I didn’t say, “you must look like a f**ing idiot” out loud…
TOO FUNNY! I hope you can go back and read this later and get a chuckle out of it, too.
Hope the rest of your day goes well! Tina

Hey Brenda
Sorry to hear your having babysitter troubles. I can feel you with the work issues too. My boss is taking a lot of time off and I am losing hours for the next two weeks. I hate it!!! I want time off for Labor Day but I want to work the rest of the time.
I started riding my bike back and forth to work. It allows me sometimes up to 3 miles a day on the bike. I also ride to get videos or to just cruise. I have realized that I cannot ride as much as I used too. So I am definately out of shape. I am saving on gas though. I hope I am losing with the riding... I would save that!!!!
