Self pay vsg search

I'm looking for a good, reasonably priced surgeon/hospital to get a vertical sleeve gastrectomy within 200 miles of Toledo.
My insurance won't cover it, so I do hope to find a "deal" as long as the doctor has a good reputation. 
Any suggestions?

I used Dr. Pleatman in Bloomfield Hills (metro detroit). http://www.laparoscopy.com/pleatman/index.htm The cost was $11K. I think it has gone up a few hundred dollars and is now $11,700. I had a good experience, I believe he is a skilled surgeon, but some people don't care for his personality - he's a little on the egotistical side and has a very dry sense of humor.

I found Dr. Mark A Pleatman to be a great doctor that takes self-pay at a reasonable cost. Had my VSG laparoscopicly on Sept 16, 2008, at a total cost of $11,700 (includes the hospital, anesthesia, surgery, as well as 2 years of follow-up).

He does get you going pretty quickly, too, if you're a self-pay. I first posted about this on Aug 19, and I could have had it done as soon as Sept 9, but I decided to wait an extra week.

He doesn't volunteer a lot of info, but does cover the necessities. He did seem very willing to answer any questions I had, asking several times if I had any more questions. I didn't have many, since I've been researching WLS for at least 5 years (what a help the web is!).
