I have lost a total of 20 lbs (pre and post op combined) and have hit a brick wall already!!! I am drinking 64 oz, at least, getting 60 gms protein, and walking 1 to 2 miles per day.

I am drinking one cup of skim milk per day with protein shake, could that be it? What gives here? How do I get this going again?

The two-week stall is perfectly normal.  Your body needs time to adjust to the radical changes.  Just keep following the plan and and the scale will move again.

As you progress through this journey there will be many stalls.  They are normal.  You will not lose weight every single day.... or even every week.  Just like you didn't gain weight every single day on your way up.

Relax and enjoy the ride!

I stalled for ten days - starting at the two week mark.  I'm almost six weeks now, and have lost a total of 45 lbs (20 before, and 25 after).  Some people lose quicker, some slower.

Hang in there and keep following the rules, the scale will move again.  You might also want to do measurements.  Sometimes during the scale stall, you'll see that your body  measurments are decreasing.

Hi Darlene,
First off, stalls of all kinds are totally normal.  When you gain or go weeks without losing anything, then you can freak out.

I'm ducking as I type this because I hope you won't give me a virtual smack... LOL
Second, are you tracking your exercise along with your food?  Sometimes if you're doing the same thing over and over your body gets in a rut and needs something to give it a kick.  I know you're only two weeks out, so that's why I said what I did about smacking me

You can't really be working out yet, but you should be walking.  Try taking a different route or doing 10 minutes here and 10 there.  It might get you going again.  But seriously, don't worry about it.  It happens to all of us.

((hugs)) I know....it is like WTH?!  I stalled 1 week out for about 2 weeks.  That was a bummer.  Everyone else that had surgery on or around my date lost 30 lbs or more the first month.  I lost 17!   I have come to accept that I am a slow loser.

At 1 month out, I called my NUT and she bumped up my calories and protein. (from 400 caloires/60g protein to 700 calories/70g protein) That helped. Even then it wasn't like I was having the rapid loss like the others did, but it got things moving again. Now I am averaging about 3 lbs a week and I am happy with that. I also lose for a couple of days then "stall" or plateau for a few. All that matters it that it is coming off.

Sometimes people need to find their own system that works best for them too. Like 100g protein or 130 oz of water. WLS is definitely not a one-size-fits-all thing. We all got to the point we did by different methods and have or had different issues.  So it only makes sense that everyone will not have the same results. It just makes it more frustrating.

I think that your stall is the typical 2 week stall I have read about a lot and things should pick back up soon. Keep your chin up!
