Stricture and Ulcers

A week ago, I had to undergo an EGD with Dilatation because I had stricture.  It was so bad they had to use contrast so they could do the dilatation.  I was put on medication to treat ulcers too.  I am still having pain when I drink and eat (I am still on a liquid diet).  I have called the doctor's office and they tell me it takes time for it to heal.  I go back to the doctor's on the 8th. I think I am hungry but I don't want to eat because it hurts.   Has anyone been through this and does this sound right.  PLEASE HELP!!

I was treated last Saturday for the same, stricture and ulcer.  I do not have any pain, but can feel it closing up again....food not going down.  I go back in Tuesday for another dialation.  Being a Friday, I would sure call again and complain!

Yikes, just read your blog.  I was asleep for my procedure!  I can't imagine being awake!!!

It wasn't that bad, but they better put me out everytime they go down my throat.  I also made another call to MMPC because I can't keep going like this!  Today is 1 month from my surgery, but what a he** of a month it has been!  Thanks.

I am in the same boat, as I just had an EGD last tuesday, and they found a marginal ulcer and stricture. Due to the location of the ulcer, my doc couldn't dialate. I have to be on liquids and meds for 6 more weeks, and he will repeat the procedure. Hopefully then he can dialate so I can eat something.

I am on protonix 2X a day.

Oh my, liquids for six more weeks.  I sure was a lucky one in this!!!!  No more whining for me!!!
