I am a WAMMER
I DID IT!!!! I rode 300 miles this weekend in the Make-a-Wish "Wish-a-Mile" bike tour. I rode through many towns that I see posted on this site. Day 1, we rode 102 miles, I ended up in a hospital in Big Rapids because of heat exhaustion and dehydration, but I got up the next day to ride 112 miles. The hardest thing I have ever done. Day three was a mere 86 miles and by then I kind of figured out how I was suppose to eat to keep up with the calorie requirements of doing this kind of extreme activity. I set this goal for myself a couple of years ago, and I feel like I have achieved the biggest goal since my WLS 4 years ago. I share this news not to brag, but to encourage all of you to set BIG goals, and then work to them. You do not necessarily need to ride a bike 300 miles or run a marathon, but set your goals high, then take them one small step at a time. My next goal is the triathlon that I am doing at the end of August!!! Now I just have to learn to swim. LOL. Thanks for letting me share my excitement about the WAM! Set a goal today. Carol
