HAP anyone????

I can't believe it.  My request was finally sent to Health Alliance Plan today.   I'm wondering if anyone else has HAP?

I'm going to be until I hear back!!!  How long until you hear from the insurance company?

I have BCBS - the 'approval' went pretty quick... but then they changed their mind and less then 24 hours before surgery - they cancled it. It took another 2 1/2 months before they would aprove my surgery. You are not alone when it comes to insurance problems.
All I can say is hold on - it will come thru.

oh no!  What reason did they use for cancelling?  yikes!

They said they that the wrong diagnosis codes for the surgery.
What I later found out was they automatically assumed I was going to have the gastric bypass. A week before the surgery they found out that it was the VSG I was going to have and they started back peddeling and saying it had to go through review to get it approved. That was not a fun time for me.

I had HAP.   Do not get overly stressed about it, it will work out.   They also paid for my tummy tuck after weight loss.   Just be prepared to do what they say.    E-mail with any questions.   

The waiting is torture.  I was disappointed w/ the letter the surgeon wrote to HAP.  He didn't mention my 12 months diet and exercise program, left out that I have sleep apnea, didn't mention the history of diabetes and heart disease in my family.  If they deny I'm going to be pretty angry.
