Pure ICE is not a name, but you are eating 7 glasses of ice a day?  I cant chew 1 cube!  (I do like that slushy pellet ice from the hospital though.  That I could do a lot of in a day.)

oh i eat ice like its candy
always have
enjoy it most in hot summer days
and doesnt hurt my teeth
so we have an ice machine at work
and I filler up every hour and enjoy
sometimes I add some flavor crystals
most often, i do not

i also EAT popsicles........i mean chomp!

its how I find that I can eat 2 of them instead of just one.

and at this point, I'll do what i can to get in my fluids!

we all find our ways that work!!!!!!!

Stacey,

This is slightly off topic, but I read another article that says that chewing on ice is a symptom of iron deficiancy.  Have you been checked lately?

Hi Jenn,

I have my 3 year WLS labs next week and will know more then but last visit to my surgeon said all was fine and I just had labs done at my new dr's office and everything was fine also.  I'll keep you posted on that other topic.

Thank you

Stacey

I am not sure if it applies to WLS people, but I was told with my pregnancy that if your urine is clear or almost clear  then that is a sign you are getting enough fluids.

I also saw on Dr Know that someone making sure that they drinking 64 oz of water a day isn't any more hydrated than when compared to someone eating and drinking normal (less than 64 oz/day).  Most of the food we consume also contains water.  And like PP said, I think our bodies tell us when we are a quart low.

But we aren't considered "normal" as in eating and drinking.

For being 4 years post op I can drink between  64oz and 125 oz I drink water mostly and I buy the sugar free drink mixes like from walmart or crystal light that helps me alot to my water intake in on a daily basis.  Everyone is different so it might work for some people but not others but it sounds like you are doing great with your fluids.  Plus with the warm weather we can get dehydrated quicker so I try to have a water bottle with me at all times.  Tricia

You seem to be getting in a good amount. The secret is to keep it going all day rather than large amounts a few times a day.
Cafine triggers hunger in some and it may have an adverse effect on your innards depending on how you were sewn up.
I still drink it to keep awake and it seems to help with my headaches.
The flavored stuff is always good and counts as your water intake.
Remember the water keeps your system moving and your metabolism up. It tells your system that you are not starving.
Sorry to sound like a know-it-all. It's what I was told.
