Happy outcome!
HI i JUST WANTED TO SHARE AN UPDATE! ABOUT A MONTH AGO- I was asking everyone if they thought I should share the fact that i had weight loss surgery with a prospective employer. I was just a couple weeks out from surgery- and i was interviewing for a community marketing position. i was shocked I got called for the interview so quick- and was concerned that they wouldn't see past my physical image. I felt confident that I could do the job- but feared rejection because of my weight. Because especially in the area of marketing, "image" is everything. Well.... Long story short I GOT THE JOB! I didn't intend to share the info with my interviewers... but they asked about what I felt one one of my greatest accomplishments? So of course i had to share the fact that i recently seriously addressed my health problems by having WLS. The moment i told them I thought to myself- well I'm being true to myself...if this wasn't the right thing to do, so be it.. I don't know how my revelation affected their decision to choose me or not............... but I'm so glad they did! I feel so lucky! Happy dance time. Jenny R.
Hey Jenny,
Congrats on the new job! I really commend you for being up front with them. IMHO some situations are just right to tell people. Your appearance is going to be changing right before their eyes so it's great that you came out with it and didn't act like you were hiding something. I know it's not always right for everyone to share their surgery info, but it's nice to hear when it does work out for somone.
This is just one in a series of "Wows" for you......it only gets better!!
Congrats on the new job & being able to share your success!
