Good Morning Michigan, Hope everyone had a great 4 of July ... Drinking the old stand-by and thinking about getting some food in my tummy.. What did you do last night and did you have any fun there?

Hey Randy! I actually have a Saturday off!!  And of course I still woke up early.  I'm in Canada and debating whether to go out and get my Tim Horton's coffee or make it at home.  Think I'll talk hubby into going and getting it for me.  Just been sitting on the porch for the last 1 1/2 hrs with my little Chi Chi - Bella.  Spent the day lounging in the pool yesterday with my youngest daughter.  Then we went and saw the movie Han**** in the evening.  That was pretty much it for me.  Plan on a low key weekend.  Don't really want to do much of anything but RELAX!!!!  I have Monday off too!!!!  Have a good one! I just finished cleaning my house and I'm sweating....
Uh, well, not as much as I did at 303 lbs. LOL

Have had coffee, breakfast, and now taking a break. It's warmer this morning and the humidity must be up there.
Yesterday it was just perfect....I love the low 70's with low humidity and a little breeze.

Not much on the agenda for the rest of the day. Thurs. nite were the Fireworks here in Sturgis.....I went out to
the "Dogs on the Driveway" event at the Missionary Church, there must have been 1,000 people there. Free dogs, popcorn, cookies and lemonade. I ate a little popcorn, and drank my water. By the time the fireworks started it was nearly 10:30 and I was freezing even with an extra shirt on.....finally left a little early and came home and jumped into bed with the blanket on.

Would like to go someplace today, but gas is $4.13 here
and I don't really have anyone to go with, so I'll just stay home and read, I guess.

Pat, I wish I had read your post a day earlier. We had Fireworks over the lake on Klinger today(the 4th.. Had a ring side seat on my deck... If you want fireworks on the fourth, you are more than welcome to watch- I think we had over 20 people on are deck and there were many that we asked after- who was that, and no one knew.. Oh well, just fireworks- no free hot dogs but I probably could have spared some popcorn... Nice to see a Sturgis name.. AmyH

What can we do to get a support group started here in Sturgis......there are so many people now in this area who have had WLS and no support group.....we NEED IT.

Mornin' campers... We are on our way to the metropark in gibralter to the wave pool,..... well stefaney goes to the wave pool we walk around the area.....  Having water today, lots and lots of water..... I finally told my mother in law about wanting the RNY and she started to cry.... she is so happy... She also said she could kick herself in the a$$ for not doing it for herself.  She is 66 and thinks she is just to old for something like that.  She took it really well, which is suprising... Now, its not a secret from her anymore.  I didn't tell my sister in law, she is a nurse and thinks she knows EVERYTHING about the medical field, its quite annoying.  So, she is going to be left in the dar****il its done and over with.  Anyhow... Hey Christina, your MIL is NOT too old for WLS. I was
68 1/2 when I had mine last August and I got along great.
She would probably have to go to Grand Rapids because Medicare demands you have your surgery at a Center of Excellence -- that being MMPC in G.R. It was a 200 mile round trip for me, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I am so much healthier now and that was certainly the plan. I was on 4 diabetes pills -- take NONE now, and on two blood pressure pills -- take NONE now....and I feel like a 40 yr old!!!!! It's so worth it to be able to move about freely, do things I haven't be able to do in lots and lots of years, and feel GOOD!

She just feels like she is too old for it, and with her living here, there is a center of excellence in Detroit, henry ford, that is where I am going through.  I have medicare also (disability).  She take NO  meds at all.  She refuses.  She has lost and gained 3 times over, and now she is feeling the effects of it. She just would never do it.  She won't even go to the dr if she don't have too, and to be honest she has never has an "annual exam", ladies you know what I mean.... I will let her know that she still is eligible and if she wants she can call the center, so I will pass the info onto her...  :)

Glad your  MIL is on board...that always makes things easier!

Good morning everyone. I'm sitting here recovering from my re-constructive surgery which was on the 30th. I'm still sore and take lots of naps. I'm bored out of my skull. I spent the holiday sitting here as the Doctor said I get to sit and do nothing and I'm really not use to it. I wish I had somewhere to go but I can't drive yet anyway.  LOL  Everyone enjoy your weekend.  I'm around if anyone wants to chat. Maryann
