Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Nunn?

I met Dr. Nunn today.  While he was nice and answered my questions, I really didnt get the warm fuzzies from him at all.  Just wondering if anyone has had bypass with him and what their thoughts are?

I had him, but for lap band, not bypass.  I liked him, thought he was a good doctor.  I don't think he is all that personable, but I like him . . . . . Good luck!!  ;o)

I had Dr . Kam at Barix, but he has left so they assigned me to him.  I had my annual appt today, and was not impressed with him.  I  had a better conversation with the nutritionalist.

Yeah, I was put off by the fact that his RD gave the seminar and she did a very poor job in my opinion.  She did not give any detail and gave misinformation.  She said they required patient's to take Lovenox injections postop, so I asked Dr. Nunn and he said they are no longer requiring that.  So that was the first thing that set me off.  He also just seemed to be in a hurry that day.  I had other questions that I would have asked, but his demeanor distracted me to the point I forgot to ask.  I am sure he is a competent surgeon, but I have decided to pursue surgery with Dr. Schram instead.  My cousin had him do her surgery back in January and she just raves about him.  Plus I like the fact that he prays with his patients the morning of surgery. 

I am going through the process with Doctor Nunn's Office.  I am still in the insurance processing stage.  I have heard that he is a great Doctor with excellent bedside manners. My bestfriend is having surgery with him 6/25/08 .  She is having the lapband...so We will see how things go!

My husband is a patient of Dr. Nunn's. He had open RNY and hernia repair on February 20, 2008. Dr. Nunn was very upfront with my husband, yet very personable and professional. His surgery went incredibly well, and he has lost 125 pounds, and has about 60 to go. He is doing wonderful and said he hasn't felt this good in 20 years. We owe this to the skilled hands of Dr. Nunn. I can't say enough about Dr. Nunn, and I know my husband feels the same way! Good luck to you.
