tell me about Dr. Foote

I am scheduled to meet Dr. Foote Monday morning at 8am. I'd like to hear what people think of him. I also see Scott the behaviorist for the second time. Hopefully I will have some good news soon. I saw Dr. Gawel yesterday, she was less than encouraging to me...maybe she was just testing me to see how badly I want this. I was hoping for warm and fuzzy....I'll take all the input I can get! He's great! Very nice, informative, truly listens to what you have to say. I didn't feel rushed in any way. He'll jot down notes as you talk to him(like Scott does, but only for surgical procedure reasons, not to pick your brain:). He has great sense of humor. I think you'll feel great after meeting w/him. Dr Gawel, on the other hand, what a negative experience that is, huh??!! If I hadn't been already associated w/MMPC, I would've been beaten down after meeting w/her. The funny thing is, I did a 6 mo. weight mgmt program thru MMPC(required by my ins) & I had her as my doc a couple of times & loved her! She was soooo supportive & positive. I think she's either against surgery or it's an act she puts on to really test people. Anyway, make of list of questions you want to ask, altho he covered most of mine by explaining the procedure. I only saw Dr Foote at orientation, but he was very nice.  I think all 3 of the surgeons there get high reviews.  Dr Baker is my surgeon.  Sorry Dr Gowel bummed you out.  I didn't have a negative experience with her so much as I did with one of the other stepping stones.  For the most part, though, the PAs and other professionals are very personable and even fun.  (I said most, not all. :-)) Good luck to you on your journey!! Hi Penney!  I had Dr Foote and really liked him.  Really answered all my questions.  Took his time.  He did a great VSG on me.   Dr G was the same way with me.  She told me that I was not a good candidate for the VSG which really bummed me out at first but Foote had no problem with me getting it done. So what are you thinking of having done?   Good Luck! Carole

I had Dr. Foote do my RN-Y procedure 5/28/08. You'll like him! Very patiently answers all your questions ,and I never felt rushed. He  saw me in the pre-op holding area with positive reassurance and true compassion. I love Dr Foote!!!   He is/was the best!  Young, cute, and knows just what he is doing. 

Hi Penney!! Dr. Foote is wonderful.  He truly has a passion for his work and it shows!  I had a list of all my questions and only had to ask 2 at the end of our discussion because he had already answered the rest.  He was VERY encouraging and caring both at the office and the hospital.  I have seen him once since surgery and he was great then too.  My other post op follow ups are with the PA's but they go over my visit with Dr. Foote. Nothing negative to say what so ever. I'd even say the whole experience has been enjoyable!!!! Best Wishes on your incredible journey!

I had Dr. Foote nearly four years ago for my surgery; he was very professional. I only met him once before surgery at the consult, but he explained everything well, answered my questions and approved me for surgery.  Met him again right before surgery and a couple times while I was in the hospital, all positive experiences. Very good doctor. You'll enjoy meeting him; he does a good job.

My sister works at Spectrum Blodgett as an RN and works with all the docs at MMPC. She says they are all good physicians and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend any of them....
