I'm closer!!!!!
I think I'm finally allowing myself to get excited and I had to share or I'll burst.
I thought this would take FOREVER but it's coming along pretty quickly.* I had a sleep study a couple years ago and already did the one-year diet and exercise program. I had those sent to the surgeon.
I had my initial consult on May 27 and list of 'homework' whi*****luded:
Letter of recommendation from my PCP
Letter of clearance from my rheumatologist (I have Lupus)
Schedule an endoscopy
Psych eval
I got back to work and scheduled the psych eval, faxed my PCP w/ the sample letter the surgeon's office gave me; and faxed my rheumy.
I had already requested my sleep study be sent over and my one-year diet and exercise history. The surgeon called me yesterday to see if I had any questions (how nice!). He had nothing in the file as of then.

So today I e-mailed the coordinator at his office. She e-mailed me right away and had everything on file but my rheumy's letter.
She got the final letter from my rheumy this afternoon and e-mailed me!
Then the surgeon's secretary called me and we just scheduled my endoscopy.
After the endoscopy, we're ready to submit to HAP. Then sit and wait.........

Spoke too soon.
The psych office called and they don't take my insurance. The sweet gal who helped me gave me the name of a woman at a place that does accept HAP. I phoned and got voice mail twice. Then I sent an e-mail. I received a response that read: "We're busy with crisis patients and we don't consider these evaluations urgent. I'll have to call you tomorrow and schedule you 2-3 weeks out." I thought that was a tad rude.
