WOW!!! I can not believe that it has been 5 years. So much has happened in my life since WLS. I have a very busy life and every thing is going great! I became a grandma and he is the light of my life. He is so precious and I am happy that I am around to see him and watch him grow. I am still in a size 6-8 depends on who makes it. I still have days where I feel I am heavy again but they are getting farther and farther between. I still have days where I know I am heavy if I look in the mirror, but then I pass by it and realize it was just a bad dream. To all of you out there! It is possible. Just remember that your pouch is your friend but can sometimes be your enemy if you mistreat it. I still have problems with some foods which I thank God for. It keeps me on the right track and makes me remember where I once was! Take care and keep your goals on the horizon, that way they are always in front of you and easy to remember. Hugs!!!

Congrats you have done a great job and have been a great inspiration for me along the way of my journey. You give me hope that this is not temporary and that we can maintain despite all the bad things we have heard!!!

Hi Suzanne! It is nice to see that some of the "oldies" are still visiting the board. I glance in once in awhile to see who is here and who is new! Hope all is well with you and yours! We just have to keep reminding the negative people that there is good out of this surgery. Take Care!

Hi- So good to see you're doing well. I'm 6 days out from RN-Y surgery. Not even a week post-op yet.  I'm struggling to get all my protein and fluids in.  Of course having fear of failing thoughts now and then.  Thank you for taking a minute to write about your journey. You are doing wonderful 5 years out. I can only pray that I'll be as successful.  I read with interest your comments about feeling heavy again- and then having to readjust your thinking with a glance in the mirror.     Is this a life long issue for most people/? If/when does the mind "catch-up?"   Jenny

Jenny;  Can not speak for the rest, but it is something that I have to deal with.  But it is not a bad thing, just something your mind does.  Good Luck!

Happy, Happy Surgeversary!!!!  Just popped on here...haven't been here in ages, and saw your post!  Wow, the years fly by, don't they?  You look wonderful and I am so proud of you, you know that!  You know my struggles my friend...with my weight again, but it's people like you that make us remember it is still attainable (or re-attainable)!  You have to treat your pouch with respect.  I love ya girlfriend!  Theresa:-)
