Nifty little mixer....
I am on MMPC's pre-op diet and most things need to be mixed. Spoons don't do so hot and I don't have a bullet.....and dragging the mixer out sounded like too much work. So I decided to try my kid's formula mixer and it works like a dream!! It is a battery operated (2 AA batteries) small hand held mixer sold at Babies R Us for about $3 - Prince Lionheart brand. When the batteries are new I swear you could mix cement with it. (Warning: you don't want to mix things in a shallow dish or you will be wiping everything down) The wand come out so it is really compact and could easily be stored in a baggie and put in a purse or bag for mixing on the go. I have found something similar to it at Meijer by Sassy, but we've discovered the power button on that one soon becomes really hard to push to get it to go.
I have whipped up everything from soup to hot chocolate and it has yet to let me down. The Prince Lionheart mixer is white and the wand has discolored from the chicken soup...but it doesn't hurt the performance. The Sassy ones come in different colors and come with a formula storage container - might be good for protein powder or other powdered supplements. They sell for about $5.
(The only downer is that there is no speed control other than trying to slowly engage the power button. Still worth the $3 or so IMO.)
