Help Please...Re:MGB

 Hello All,  Has anyone here from Michigan had the MGB? I am seriously concidering having  the mini gastric bypass.  I have read quite a lot about it but haven't been able to come across a doctor around my Michigan area that does the surgery for MGB. Brenda,  I looked at having it done a couple of years ago.  During my research, they are a self pay, and if you have insurance you have to submitt it after.  I heard people had problems geting documentation to get it covered. My insurance covered it, so I went with someone who would process everything for me.   There is a MGB board here, you may want to check it out.  Last I heard, they were only doing them in Vegas. Hi Pam, Just wanted to say thank you for your reply. And the pic of your little boy is adorable. He is such a cutie. I have a 4 yr old grandson that I couldn't live without but if I don't do something with my weight (like my doctor said) then I won't be here much longer for him.  I almost got the lapband last year. Went thru most of the steps to get it then I backed out at the last minute. The RNY seems so scarry to me. Not sure why. Guess with me being sick and tired all the time now and reading that some patients with RNY go throu that same feeling scares me.  I need to find a good WLS doctor and get the ball rolling before its to late. Brenda, Try the Barix clinics in Ypsilanti.  They do both lap band and rny.   The staff and doctor are wonderful.  Some people have issues with RNY, some have none.  Talk to the doctors, see what they thingk is best.  Tell them your fears. Best of luck Pam
