Pregnancy Question

Hello everyone.  I am a veteran so to speak of WLS, I had it July 27, 2005 and have maintained my original 90+ pound weightloss until recently whenI gained a couple after I discovered I am about 2 months pregnant.  My problem is that I am experiencing what I term severe morning sickness, or it could be a slightly more severe form of dumping.  I had a child pre-surgery and had absolutely NO sickness and now, while I haven't actually thrown up, I feel nauseous all day long until about 7pm.  It seems that absolutely anything I eat doesn't sit well and I dump in my "normal" way that I always have.  I was just wondering if anyone had a similar situation and if it lasted the entire pregnancy and what things you could eat that didn't kill you.  Currently my go to "foods" are water and milk.  Anyone out there who can help?

Congrats!!   I had all my children pre-WLS (I haven't had my surgery yet! LOL), but I wanted to share that with my first pregnancy it was a piece of cake.  I had NO morning sickness at all.  I did get sick, but only a few times and they came on and left fast.  I felt great!  That one was a single birth - boy.  With my second pregnancy I was SICK.  It was really bad from about 5 to 20 weeks or so and then it went from barely being able to make it off the couch to just being slightly nauseous all day.  I even said that had that been my first pregnancy, it would have been my last because I felt so crappy those early weeks.  Anyway, I figured that it must be a girl since it was so completely opposite from the first one.   Luckily it did let up for a few good weeks and then started to come back closer to the end.  Oh, I was right....it was a girl.  And another girl. (We found out at my 20 week ultra sound we were having twins.) I guess it was an overload of all those female hormones that make me have an intimate relationship with all toilets.   I know that I have read that morning sickness is more common with girls.  On my pregnancy board it was probably only just slightly that way.  But it was more common for people to just have different symptoms for each pregnancy regardless of sex.  Just thought I'd share my experience. Sorry I don't have any post-WLS info.  I hope that it is just regular morning sickness and it doesn't linger long. Good luck and congrats again!

Hi! I'm sorry, I haven't had surgery yet but I can tell you that will all of my pregnancies, I was incredibly sick from 6 wks until between 20-22 weeks. I didn't keep anything down + I had dry heaves all the time. I was nauseous 24/7-like the worst form of stomach-flu-make-me-wanna-die kinda nauseous. Any smell, being overly hungry, & even food commercials would set me off. So, I guess it could just be pregnancy itself & have nothing to do w/your wls. Your wls probably just adds to it since you dump on top of being sick from the pregnancy???!!! I hope you feel better soon-I feel your pain!! Lisa
