It seems that I am at a stand still with my weight.  I have very bad knee problems so it is hard for me to walk, I would like to start riding a bike, still being heavy.  How do I find what type of bike I should get, do bikes have a weight ratio? Other's say I am doing well, but for myself I truly expected to have lost more than I have so far.  I have lost  100 pounds, but now I feel stuck. Nothing seems to be coming off any longer. What type of bike would work for me?

I would recommend going to a good bike shop and look for a bike. Most of them are extremely helpful and knowledgable about what will fit one's body type. I bought a mountain bike about 6 years ago that I am riding now, but they do make some decent bikes that you sit more upright on that are designed for durability and comfort. They will tend to have a rigid frame and forks, so they won't absorb any bumps, but a good seat will help with that.

Things are going good. Went ot the support group last night for this first time in a couple months. Man, the changes in everyone there and lots of new faces heading to the bench! People looked bummed when Patti said you were gone.. We all miss you also.. with you and Bill gone, it's left to Patti to be the matriarch of the clan! Good to hear your new job is going good!

I want one of those bikes with one front wheel and 2 back wheels.  The huge seat looks so comfy and a wagon attached so I can haul my dogs with me..LOL  I love biking but I dont have one. Shannon

Biking is GREAT exercise.   I started out a couple of years ago with a mountain/comfort bike, and love it so much that I now have a road bike and am training to ride a 300 mile bike ride in 3 days in July.   Go to a bike shop, and get a GOOD bike, they are worth the extra money, and extra support in getting the right bike for your goals.  If your goals are that you just want to ride around your neighborhood, then a good comfort bike is good, if you are thinking you want to do more down the road, than maybe look at some of the hybrid bikes.   Buy a good helmet and some reflective gear as well.     Have fun.   I love my bike almost as much as I love my family.
