hey all.... havent been around in a while cuz have been really miserable. those of you that have followed me know that i had an incisional infection that was pretty bad, from my perspective. and for the last 4 weeks i have been battling an intestinal infection that was caused from being on too many antibiotics. unfortunately the medicine they put me on is not helping. and to top it off, i had to go in to have a possible stricture fixed, it wasnt a stricture, but was definitely smaller than he wanted and he widened it a bit. I was also in the ER o ver this past weekend due to the same issues. i am now off work for the rest of the week due to this and they are starting me on a new liquid med and hopefully this will make me well. Being off work is unpaid so that sucks as well. sighs.... My boss has been absolutely wonderful during this........ and the doc's office has also been awesome.... i have no complaints either way...... other than i am frustrated and miserable and sick and tired of being sick...... people say... oh but what about the weight you have lost..... and to be honest... i really dont care...because i have been so very sick for 10 weeks...... sighs..... and its a viscious cycle... if i eat im sick but if i dont eat i cant get well and protein is so important... only ting keeping me outta the hospital is the fact that i am diligent with my vitamins and with my water...... anyway... just wanted those of you that were wondering where i have been.... where i have been......... thanks for listening...... Oh My Gosh Kandy!!! I haven't been here in awhile so I kinda lost track of how life has been for you, but gee**** sure sounds like its been pretty yucky. I am so sorry to hear this. I have never heard of Dr. Glucks patients having so much sickness.  I guess you just never know about these things, huh? What does Dr. Gluck say about your prognosis? Has he been there for you? I sure hope so. I I am sure happy to hear your boss is being nice about all this. For me....I am doing well for the most part. I am down 50 pounds, but have some concerns about this burning I get in my tummy..mostly in the evenings. I started back on Prilosec to see if that will help...I will see.  I may call Dr. office if it keeps up. Well kiddo, again I am so sorry to hear your having these bumps  in your recovery. Keep me updated. I will go to your site more often and see you there. Love and peace, Colleen

Colleen Thanks.... i am glad to know that things are going so wel for you. And yes this is why i have not been around. Dr Gluck and his whole staff have been really awesome and i do feel as tho i am getting the best care possible. I am grateful that my boss is being so good about it all... and if i think i back.. i probably went back to work way too soon and just have never really given my body the time to recover that it needed... hopefully this new med and some time off will help... I will definitely keep in touch. Kandy

Hi Kandy, I'm so sorry you've been sick. It will get better, but I know that seems like it's forever away. I'll keep you in my thoughts. *Hugs*

wow I'm really very sorry to hear this.. can you try a probotic?  (good bacteria which will help heal the bowels after all the antibiotic killed off the good ones..  especially since you can't eat yogurt..  if you have a health food store there.. check with them.. they should be kept cold.. and in capsule form so you could put it in with your protein if you can't take capsules.. good luck with all this and please keep us informed.. try to stay as positive as you can to help heal yourself..  {{hugs}}

Make surethey are giving you medicine that bariatic patients can metabolize. Also drink your protein - Isopure drinks will give you what you need and you get the water at the same time. Less stress on your guts. kp
