Is there a morning support group in West MI?

If not, would anyone be interested if there was one?  Afternoons and evenings are out for me....unless it is every 3rd Saturday or a Sunday.

I would love to be able to go to a group somewhere around here. The ones at MMPC are on Thursdays.. and I work alllll day. If there was a group on Monday or Tuesday anytime during the day, I could go. I think we need to start our own group, Gwen! I wonder how we can do that. Ha.

Either of those days work for me!  I agree - I think we should start one too!  Where would be a good place? I am flexible since I'd be coming in from the expressway (M-6 or I-96.)  If we wanted to be by MMPC, Forest Hills Foods has a nice little coffee/deli area.  I don't think Dunkin Donuts would be good.  There's Starbucks over by Target....or even the one in Target.  We could do retail WLS support! LOL I think we should do this!  I hope there are others that would like an earlier daytime meeting.

Please keep me informed.  I could not attend for the next few weeks since I am having surgery next week. 

Cool!  The more the merrier!!  We could even carpool if you wanted.  I'm right off the 96 (I can see it from my kitchen window.) Okemos to GR is quite a distance....especially with the price of gas right now.  UGGH! Good luck next week!  Let us know how it goes! Gwen

Carpooling would be fine with me.  I am going to attend the support at the local hospital here where i did my supervised diet but the entire group are people who had the RNY.  Would be nice to have a group that was a little more varied with surgery types. 

Waah!   I wanna come!   But wait...I almost forgot!  I'm a teacher!  I have summers off!    Let me know when and where you will continue to have them, and I'll make an excuse to get down to GR every now and then.

I vote for Mondays since DH works 2nd shift and is well rested.  But I am still open - just that if it were Tuesdays, I would need to scoot by noon so he can get his nap in. Since holidays and stuff are at the beginning/end of the month during these warmer months... How does the 3rd Monday or Tuesday of the month sound?  That would be the 19th or 20th of this month...in just over 2 weeks!  We could always throw in an impromptu one if anyone would like to have a trial run.  DH is STILL off of work and I have a more open schedule until he goes back. Where would you like to meet?  I haven't lived in GR in almost 9 yrs so there may be some cool places I don't know exist.  I think the BEST coffee is Dunkin Donuts', but from what I remember it is pretty small in there...and isn't Baskin Robins in with them now too?  Maybe not ideal for WLS support.   Plus that is getting away from the expressway.  I think any location should be close for out-of-towners.  I am not speaking for myself though.  I love having any excuse (not dr appt related) to go to the city!....Especially Rivertown Crossing, Costco and Target. I haven't tried the coffee at MMPC there outside the clinic.  I think we all know where that is at.  Just a suggestion. Throw out some suggestions and ideas everyone and then we can put it to a vote.  

I live not far from Rivertown and there's Biggby Coffe, which has a nice sitting area, not far from the mall; there's also a Starbucks right off I-196, if you like that. In the mall, there's a nice little coffee place on the second floor near the food court called Maui Wowie, which has really good coffee.  The coffee at the place by MMPC is very good, I'd recommend them. Monday is good for me, I'd vote for any place out by Rivertown to save me gas! I can't go to MMPC's meetings either because I work nights, but I would love to get together with other folks for a support group. I'm nearly 4 years out and could always use some support.

Mondays would be perfect for me as well. The mall would be awesome. Any chance to go near there is great with me! I am pretty much open to anything though because I am free for the most part on Mondays.
