Today is the first day of the prediet.  How can oatmeal smell so good while it is cooking and have absolutely no taste?  I guess tomorrow morning I will be using splenda brown sugar to see if that helps in any way.

Did you get the regular oatmeal or the apple cinnamon? I was loving the apple cinnamon when I tried it in the sample pack.. but they were out of it when I did my order. Blah. Once you get into the diet a little more, I think you will be surprised how easy it is. Once I was about a day into it.. I realized I was never hungry. I mean.. literally never. It was nice not to have to worry about what to do for food too.. just a couple packets and I was good.  It won't be long now until your surgery!

I got the apple cinnamon.  I never got the sample packet.  That would have helped.  The first day was the worse.  But I have already lost some weight.  That is an added incentative.  lol.  First time I have seen the scales gone down in a long time.  Am having problems getting all the liquids in but am working on it.  I cant waiting til my surgery day.  I want it over with.

I used the apple cinnamon oatmeal and added a tsp. of maple flavoring to it....at least it made it taste better. I really didn't mind the pre-packaged foods, except maybe the tomato soup - yuck!

I still eat oatmeal almost every day - Quaker weight control banana bread flavor and I love it. Sometimes I add a tsp. of peanut butter - yum! Anyway my cholesterol is down to 133!!! and I really think the oatmeal has helped.

Good luck with your surgery.....If you need a surgery angel, I would be happy to do that for you. I am so happy with MMPC and their surgeons - what a great group of caring people!

I couldn't do the oatmeal at all.  Thankfully, I ordered only 1 box.  When I went for my check up the week before my surgery, I grabbed something else to replace it.  My dog wouldn't even eat it. My most creative tip is this.  I used the fruit drink to make sugar free jello with.  I used 1 cup of ho****er.  Mixed the fruit drink with 1 cup of water and used that as my "cold" water.   The first week I would eat an entire box of jello for lunch.  After the first week, I could not do an entire box in one sitting - your stomach shrinks.  But it did help me with the hunger thing the first week.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I will be retrying the oatmeal for breakfast.  So far the only thing that is definitely going back is the soy nuts.  Ten minutes after eating I was running for the bathroom.  At least three days are over with and I have survived without cheating.
