I still have no confirmation that the 6 month diet will be waived with BCBSM PPO for my BMI of 57.8?! Is this good news? Did anyone else get a letter like this and then get a call from insurance saying the diet was waived? This is how the letter i got reads: This is to inform you that your predetermination letter along with your psychological evaluation has been sent to your insurance company for approval. You must now forward your weight loss history and medical records to either the address or fax number below. Your packet was faxed to insurance on 4/22/08, Fax # was 800-573-7222. They may want 6-12 months weight loss documentation. Please contact your insurance company in two to three weeks to check the status of your approval.

I haven't received anything like that - yet....  I am excited to see that things are moving for you though!!  I hope they decide that you don't need the 6 month diet.  Good Luck!!

No letter , but I was told by another member that BMI over 50 needs no diet approval. It was confirmed by the weight control center.

Not scheduled yet Shannon. I just started my work-up yesterday. I'll see the doctor again in a month and hopefully all my tests will be done and I will be ready to see Dr. Krause.
