Meeting in Leslie, Michigan
We will hold our monthly weight loss surgery meeting in Leslie, MI on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 6 PM at the Leslie Middle School library. (They will always be the last Wednesday of the month.)
This is a smallish group ranging from 10-15 people with WLS patients who range from 3 years post op to pre-op. The agenda of the meetings is to talk about what is working (or not) for everyone. It's a great place to ask questions and get support regardless of what type or where you had surgery.

P.S- MY BMI is around 40. (with a couple health issues) But why I mention this is I've been reading the blogs, and there sure seems to be some negative comments related to lower BMI people considering WLS. Some of the comments are borderline cruel. (Not so much from Michigan folks, but on the General discussion board.) Has anyone else noticed that too?
I'm probably overly sensitive- but it almost feels like another form of prejudice...... Geez.

I'm looking forward to meeting you tonight. Don't be scared, we have all been in your position before. I'm trying to get my mom to come who is pre op also.
Don't worry about the low BMI haters. They have no right to judge someone they don't even know. You have made the decision to have this surgery based on your needs with the blessing of a medical doctor who believes it will benefit you. Only you can know that this is the right decision for you so forget about what others may think.
