Date yesterday, gone today!!
I am feeling ok. Saw the gastro today and he says that I am healing quite nicely. He wants to start me back on my Crohn's meds, but I told him I am having a hard time getting all the other drugs and vitamins in that I didn't think I could add 13 more pills. 3 asacols 3X a day and 4 Imuran once a day. I would be up all night taking pills!
But I really am doing fine, able to eat chicken, tuna, soft veggies. (All chewed to mush) Haven't tried beef yet, but can't wait!! My DH keeps grilling steaks and burgers while I eat my chicken. UGH! I will keep praying for you. Insurance red tape can be a killer. Just keep after them

Ugh, I was sorry to hear this, Gwen. Sometimes, the office staff just really has no idea what they are doing. I called to pay over $500 by phone one day.. the next day when I arrived for my appointment, they were asking for payment. I was like.. uhm, wait a minute.. I talked to so-and-so yesterday at this time and paid this. It took them quite a little while to find evidence of it, all the while I was on my cellphone standing there with a lovely CSR from the credit card company waiting to tell them that it was, in fact, paid.
Also, I think I told you before.. I was literally calling every single day. I called at different times.. sometimes no messages, sometimes left a message.. and finally got the job done. I wouldn't call them the most proactive staff.
Being on the other side of it now, I would have it no other way as far as surgeons go. Dr. Kemmeter is the most amazing doctor, and he really cares about his patients as well. I actually met Dr. Baker during my stay there, and I got that same feeling from him. The day I was discharged, Dr. Kemmeter was out of town.. but he called to speak to the nurses and ask all about me. The nurse said she spoke to him for about 10 minutes regarding all the details of what was going on with me. I was impressed by that. He held my hand prior to surgery and remembered the names of my husband and niece when he talked to them following surgery. Those are things I will never forget.
If you do choose to find a different doctor, I wish you luck... but like others, I would encourage you to reconsider. I honestly wish that these amazing surgeons had an equally amazing office staff.. that would make our lives a lot easier!
If you need someone to talk to, you can always send a PM. I myself don't have a lot of RL friends.. a few close ones, and sometimes.. you just need an impartial ear, ya know?
Have you ever seriously considered the full DS as an option? It does require more supplementation with vitamins for life, but if you're interested at all.. I am definitely willing to help with that.
Try to stay strong. You will be proud of yourself for keeping your head up.
