I'm approved!
Hello everyone! My name is Andy and I have to admit to being a "lurker" in the background here on this forum. I've read alot of posts but have not posted yet, till now. I guess I was waiting to get an approval for the surgery, before I got all excited about anything it in fear of being turned down. But I got my letter saying I'm approved for the lap band at Hurley! Dr. Kralovich will do the surgery. A little about myself: I'm happily married with 3 kids: 19, 11, and 5. I'm 5'-6", weigh 240 with a BMI of 38.7 and have severe sleep apnea (CPAP) and hypertension. I blew 2 discs in my back and had fusion 2 years ago, had to give up the carpentry trade because of it, almost lost my house and my dignity recovering from that...definitely gave up my pride. Got a new job now and finally getting my life back to normal. And now with the approval, I can work on getting ME back to normal. Man, I HATE being overweight! Hate looking in the mirror, I constantly feel like a slug. I haven't been under 200# since the late 80's and I'm really hoping with the lap band and a good head on my shoulders (and support from friends and family) that I can end this unpleasant part of my existance!
