Good Morning, Some of you are aware of my friend Karen who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Brain Cancer.  Her son Stephen is in the military and was granted a one week leave to come home to be here during her surgery.  However, that week is no up.  Needless to say, considering how ill she is will make saying goodbye very traumatic for both of them.  He called his CO to request an extension but was denied. I and a lot of friends are working on finding a way to get an extension for him.  We are working with our local Congressman but so far nothing.  The wheels of goverment can move painfully slow. Do any of you have any other ideas as to what we can do to help?  Please contact me asap if you do. Thank you so very much for your kindness and prayers. Blessings & a Big Hug to All of you, Pam  PS Some good news - My dear hubby will be placed on the Liver Transplant Registry.  It is now our only hope.  We are thankful and praying for a miracle.

Try contacting the REd Cross.  I no longer have their military contact numbers but if you contact you local chapter  they should be able to give you some info.  I honestly dont know if they can help.  But I do know when  hubby was military they were the ones to contact for emergency leave. Ill be praying for this situation.   You are a great friend to this family,

Thanks for your quick response. The Red Cross actually were the ones that flew Stephen home last week.  They are a great organization!  I will be sure to bring this to Karen's attention if she hasn't thought of it already. Blessings to You. Pam

HUBBY JUST  said to tell you  if you do go this route to have the soldiers  name rank   unit no ss no  that kind of thing.  He said that  IF  they can help  having the necessary info  right on hand will make the process a bit faster    Maybe something from the Dr about moms health status
