Flint Area Bariatric Support Group - TONIGHT

Hi all -  Just a quick reminder that the Flint Area Bariatric Support (FABS) Group will be meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Hurley Health and Fitness Center - 1st floor classroom.   This is the informal, independent support group --- not associated with any hospital.  We offer peer-to-peer support, lots of laughs and great information for everyone, no matter what type of surgery you had.  Pre-Ops are also welcome! Hi Pam, I wish I would of seen this earlier.  I have not been to a support group as of yet.  I do need to start going. How do I find out when and where they all are?  I had my surgery almost 4 weeks ago at Hurley. Thanks,

Sorry we missed you tonight.  We had a good meeting.  :) There are actually 2 different Flint support groups.  The Hurley one is at the Bariatric Center on the 1st Monday of the month.  Always at 5:30 in their meeting room at the Center. The "informal" group is a lot of the same people, but they just decided to start meeting on their own so they could see each other more often.  That's always on the 3rd Monday of the month at 5:30 - at Hurley Health and Fitness.  We also have a Google Group Website.  You can join the group and our leader, Jim, sends out reminders of our meetings.  We also meet every night for our walking group -- different locations in the Flint area.  Here's the link to the group if you want to join: http://groups.google.com/group/flint-area-bariatric-support- fabs I also lead the Bay City support group - we meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month.  You're welcome to join us for that one too.  You can never have too much support!  And you get to make lots of new friends in the process. I just noticed you live in Linden.  The walking group meetings in Linden - at Clover Beach - on Tuesday nights.  So if you're up for it, they would love to have you join them.  I can't make it over to Linden after work on Tuesdays... so I usually just hit the trails at Genesys since it's closer to my route home.

Thanks Pam, I am going to join the google group and check it out.  That is great about clover beach it is right in town, how nice is that?  I do have to get everything to fit the temporary schedule of kids in sports and having a sitter, but I will be getting to the groups soon.  Thanks for all the great info.
