bike rental?
does anyone know of a place in metro detroit where you can rent bicycles? i'm really thinking i want a new bike, but since it's been years since i've ridden one, i thought it might be a good idea to rent one and take it through a park or something, just feeling things out... but i only know of bike rentals in touristy areas...
I was planning a field trip for my class to Willow Metro Park and noticed that they rent bikes. Maybe some of the others do, as well, if Willow is not convenient for you. Here's the link....then click on Willow or any of the others.

I don't know of any bike rentals, but I would recommend going to a store that specializes in selling bikes & accessories (instead of Target or Meijer). They can outfit you with the proper bike, and they will surely let you take any that you are interested in for a test drive.
I found the bikes to be more expensive, but MUCH better quality, and a LOT of service comes with it. And, I am worth it!

Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.

thanks for both suggestions! i checked out the metro parks website and a few of them offer bike rental, including the one you mentioned (willow), stony creek (which i'm familiar with) and another one yet... i'm going to check it out this weekend if it's nice out... i used to love riding bikes, so i have hgh hopes...
