pre-op diet
I started my pre-op diet today optifast, and I feel so hungry does it get better is there anything else I can have any ideas I have to do the diet for 2-weeks I hope the growling pains get better!!! I am not trying to be a big baby I just dont want to feel sick to my stomach for 2weeks! thanks for the help everyone!
Rebecca,
I did the Optifast program as a diet for 6 months years ago,, t does get better.. Drink Lots of water( a big glass 30 minutes before) If you are using the powder kind, mix it with ice. Do they have you using flavorings as well..t ry to keep your mind off that it is food.DO they allow sugar free popsicles? Try to think of it as fuel not food for your body,, Your appetite will get less and it will seem like less torture, I promise.. Take your minds off it by going outside, enjoy the weather with a walk, go pick out the shorts you want to be wearing this Summer... Anything just to not think about it...
.. It is all for a purpose...

The first 3 days of a liquid diet are brutal. Your body is cleansing itself from all the crap we fed it before -- carbs, sugar, junk. It takes about 3 days before the body levels off and figures out that what you're feeding it now is just fine and it'll survive.
Day 4 was a turning point for me. No more hunger and I was amazed that I could feel full on an 8oz protein shake. Definitely keep the water flowing too - that helps between meals.
