Hey Gang,     I have been struggling now for a while thinking my pouch is to big. Last night a surgeon Dr Farhan spoke about a new procedure develope to help those post RNY. It is non invasive and done with a scope down through the throat! They put a couple small pleats in your pouch to bring it back into control again!? Hmmm, I said. I think my pouch was made to large by my surgeon to begin with; he was sorta new and concervative! I have been on a monster plateau; and not even my 60 min. exercise daily has help me! My NUT scolded me and made me feel like a failure! I also do fitday and my protien and water! Anyone else out there had this problem? I am 1 yr. 2 mon. post op RNY, lost 96 lbs. and not one more in over 3 months! I need some serious answers and serious HELP! I am looking into this new procedure, but won't know if insurance will cover it. My hubby also said he believe's I don't need to lose anymore because I have gotten rid of all my health problems (diabetes, HB, sleep apnea); I am still @ 195 lbs.!! I want to reach 150!! Is there any hope for me. I am SOOO DEDICATED! I want to be freed from this burden. I know my DH means well but he hasn't a clue. You don't want to come this far in a race to get your life back when you can see this finish line in sight!  Looking for feedback anyone.. Thanks, Judy R

Is your goal unrealistic?  Are you also counting the weight of the excess skin?  I am at 148 - 150 and I figure my skin is about 15 lbs.  (can't afford any more plastics).  My goal at first was 135.  I now realize that I am there, I just have this excess stuff on me.   Have you tried upping your protein to 100 - 120 grams per day?  Also, trick your body by doing a few days at 750 - 900 calories and then go up to 1250 - 1400.  This way your body won't hold onto what you're feeding it (just in case you try to starve it).  I hit plateaus and this is always what brought me into the next phase. I don't know how much you can eat at one sitting but if it's not very much then I figure your pouch is just right.  Also, are you watching what you put into your mouth?  Are you staying under 30 grams of fat and watching the carbs?  All these play into losing weight and keeping it off.   I am exactly where I need to be for me and maybe you're just there for you.  Not everyone gets "skinny".  You might be at a healthy weight for you and your body is trying to tell you that.  If what I suggested above doesn't break the plateau, this might be the case.  Good luck and don't get down on yourself.  Stress makes everything worse.
