Metal detectors

Ok I am not sure if this is a stupid question or not but I am alittle concern.  I had the open gastric bypass 11/2/06 (have lost 190 lbs, YAY for me!!)  I will be flying in 3 weeks and was wondering for the staples or the Green filter thingy I have in me will set off the metal detectors.  I had my surgrey with Dr. Wood/Taylor and their office help is not much help.  Does anyone have a comments about this. Thanks for any help.

I have the IVC filter for almost 4 years and have flown a million times since then and never once did the alarm go off.....dont worry..... Shannon

Thats where I fly too mainly- Fla....my whole family lives there.  Why I am in MI still I have no clue.....have fun for me!! S-

I just came home from Florida and the weather was great I did not set the metal dectors off and I have a metal hip and gastric staples.  Have fun at Disney.   Tricia

I have shrapnel in my hand. That sets of the detectors and MRI machines make it vibrate. But your new guts have titanium and it doesn't do anything to the machines. Jon has a metal plate in his head. Every time Rhonda fires up the microwave he craps his pants and forgets who he is for a half hour or so. kp
