One of my friends had Lap Band surgery in 2005 and he is not doing well, he says he can eat certain foods with no problems (bad foods ) and he does.  His weight is going up and I can see he is frustrated, How can I help him? Robin

Ask him if you can take him to a support group meeting . Sounds like your friend has a good friend in you. I think he has bigger problum then you or I can fix....

Thanks Randy, he went to a group for a few months and did better,  Once he stopped, the bad habits returned.  I feel very bad for him because he does try and I hate to see him gain all his weight back that he worked so hard to lose. Robin

Hi Robin, First have him call his Doc.  I do not know about Bands but maybe he needs it adjusted.  Also if he doesn't go to a support board have him go to the Lap Band board here. He has worked to hard and to long to let food control him.  He has a wonderful tool and needs to get the fire  again on how to use it. You are a good friend! Carole

Thanks  Carole, he goes to the doc the 16th.  Once he gets his fire" back"he should be ok, I just hate to see him like this, he worked so hard to take off the weight now its coming back on.  He can eat around the band, if hes filled to much he gets sick, if hes not filled enough he can overeat.   What  a mess!
