The Family is taking me for an early birthday dinner tonight to Outback.  The kids close that because I (used to) Love it so much.  I was just looking at the menu and I am trying to figure out what I should get.  I want to avoid steak if I can.  I think I can handle the Chopped Steak or the salmon. Any suggestions?

The Salmon is really good, I haven't had the chopped steak before though.  Enjoy and Happy Birthday!!

They have a nice chicken dish on the childrens menu.  Or I order from the appetizer menu.

Whenever I go to Outback (my fave restaurant!!), I order off of the kids menu.  Just know that's an option, although a lot of kids menus at restaurants aren't all that healthy!

At Outback, I get the sirloin kids meal.  It includes a side item and beverage, and the price is really reasonable.

Whenever I order off of the kids menu, I always tell the server that I am a gastric bypass patient.  No one at Outback has ever given me a hassle over ordering a kids meal after I've said this.

If you decide to order an adult portion meal you can always ask for a box immediately and box up half of the meal for later, before you even take the first bite.  That way you won't be tempted to continue nibbling on the food after you're already full!

Salmon is a great choice, if you want to avoid steak.

Good luck!!

Thanks a lot for the input everyone.  I just got home and I am stuffed.  I had the chopped steak over mashed potatoes.  It was sooo GOOD.  I did not ask for a to go container when the meal was served and when there was a lot left on my plate the server thought that something was wrong, when I told him that it was terrific, I just want that hungry, he didn't believe  me and sent the manager over.  I explained (lied) that I had a late lunch and really want hungry.  Next time I will take Susan's advise and get the container at the begining of the meal.  To add insult to injury, my son told the server it was my birthday and the brought me out a brownie Sunday, that the kids really enjoyed.
