Hello everyone,  I am new here and I wanted to find out how things work here. I have a surgery date April 8 2008 I am a bit worried of course How is the recovery time? can anyone share with me? Thanks Cindy

Hi Cindy, It's helpful to let us know what kind of WLS you are having.  I think the recovery times are different with each kind. Welcome to the MI board!

Hi Cindy, Welcome to the board.  I checked out your profile and saw that you are having Dr. Pop, which means you are probably having RNY?  I think if its lap, then a good recovery time, like time off from work is 2-3 wks.  I know people who have gone back sooner.  If its open RNY, then I would definately take 4-6 wks.  Me, I took 6 wks with the lap RNY, just because I wanted to be ready for my new lifestyle before I returned to work.  Plus, it gave me a chance to walk alot and to lay out in the sun  to recoop. Your surgery is only 6 days away!  That is awesome girl.  Did you decide how much time you are taking off?
