Hey - Have any of you ever heard of a recipe called 7 Can Soup? Its got salsa, chicken, tomatoes, corn, blackbeans, and some other goodies and spices in it.  I've tasted it and it is goooooood.  But, I can't find the recipe. Loaded with lots of protein and very little fat!  Yummy! Pam

Ok, just so you know to drink ALOT more water after eating this.....one serving has more than 100% of your daily recommended sodium intake.  I would swap out and use the low sodium broth and soup, to say the least.

What are ranch style beans? I don't think I've ever seen them.

    Thanks Kathy..........

This may not be the right question to add to a recipe that sound really tasty, but the only source of protein I see is the chicken.. Where are we getting the other protein from? It sounds Wonderful, but loaded with carbs.. Kind of scary to me.. I don't do well with corn or "frito(chip) products. Not trying to be a downer.. Just asking questions. If anyone has the breakdown to make me feel better, I would greatly appreciate it.. I am still a straight turkey breast/whole grain bread person with a little light miracle whip on the side.. Sorry.. cal me old and a fuddy-duddy. Wigglypoo

Hi - beans have a lot of protein and the carbs are "good" ones. I make a version of this recipe called "Taco Soup" and it is seasoned with an envelope of hidden valley ranch dressing and an envelope of taco seasoning.  It originally came from WW and I love it.

I kinda agree.  I'd probably replace the corn with an extra can of beans (probably black beans) and skip the fritos all together.  Add some grated cheese to the top for garnish for a bit of extra protein.  But with the beans and chicken, there's a lot of protein in that soup.    Beans are in the same family as whole grains --- it's the good carbs we need. It's definitely good to chime in when you see something shared that might not be best for us after surgery.  It's always good to have a reality check when we need it. Pam

I just went on the internet and typed in 7 can soup, and this is the first one that came up.  there are several of them out there, even weigh****chers.  my recommendation is to do the same search and click on the one with the listed breakdown.
