RECIPE TO JUMP START A WEIGHT LOSS STALL
Hello,
Quite a while back on this site I saw a formula for jump starting a weight loss stall. It spelled out certain foods to eat and in what amounts.
Does anyone know what I am referring to and would you please pass it along if you have the information.
I think (but am not sure) that it might have been posted by someone named Toni. Not sure if she still stops by to check out the forum. But, Toni, or anyone else has this information could you please post it here?
Thanks.
Pam
There are two different routes...one is the pouch test. I just did this. It's hard, but it will make you feel full faster if you are losing that sensation.
There is also the plateau buster diet, as follows:
#1 Do for 10 days to break plateau
#2 Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamin
& mineral supplements each day.
#4 You may consume up to 3 oz. of the following high-protein foods,
5 times a day:
* beef,
* pork,
* chicken,
* turkey,
* lamb,
* fish,
* eggs,
* low-fat cheese,
* cottage cheese,
* plain yogurt (or artificially sweetened),
* peanut butter,
* beans/legumes.
#5 You may also have:
* sugar-free popsicles (avoid juice popsicles),
* tea or coffee,
* sugar-free sodas,
* sugar-free Jello,
* broths & bouillons,
* Crystal Lite drinks.
For Vegetables eat from only this list:
Broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, spinach, Brussels sprouts,
Asparagus & Cabbage
For Fruit choose only from this list:
Cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon and strawberries
#6 IF IT IS NOT ON THE LIST YOU MAY NOT HAVE IT!
#7 Keep a food diary and try to get 30 minutes of exercise daily.
That one works too, and is easier to do than the pouch test.
I had my initial surgery in December, 2000. Since then I have gained 17 pounds. UGGH so disappointed in myself. It is so hard. I am on day 3 of the 5 day pouch test. Day 1 was hard, day 2 was even harder. I made spaghetti/garlic bread for my family and I ate jello.. oh yum. ha! All the while, my 13 y/o son telling me how "gross" my jello looked (ahh love those teens). Anyway -
I ate a piece of hamburger and immediately felt like a failure because I "cheated". Is that ridiculous or what? Today I can have tuna and eggs.. I feel like a queen. ha ha! I think we all need a little reminder now and then of what we "should" be doing.. and I am certain that this 5 day pouch test will work for you - as it will work for me. When you are excited about eating tuna, something HAS to be working. Go to the website 5daypouchtest.com and check it out... you can do it!!!
God bless - Tina
