MMPC Payments!!!!
We have to pay what isn't covered by insurance. The money I've paid so far was: $30 for sample food (because on our 2 week pre-op and post-op diets, we have to have their food and if we don't like something, we can't return it - luckily everything I've tried has been fine), 2-$25 Co-pays, $125 Behaviorist fee, & $50 dietitian fee. I have BCBSM and it will be around $1200 out-of-pocket by the time it is all said and done because of post-op dietitian, behaviorist and exercise visits...all of which are not covered by my ins.
I'm so glad that I didn't have to pay any upfront fees. I'm having my surgery at St. John's Medical Center in Detroit. Thank goodness everything is covered by Priority Health. I have a fully funded HMO. As a new homeowner, money is tight. I'm so grateful that I didn't have to come out of pocket. I know it is worth it, but it would have been like trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip for me at this point.
Best wishes to everyone.
God Bless!
RNY SURGERY DATE IS 4/14/08!!!!
