cedar point?
hi all!
i've had a friend invite me to cedar point at the beginning of june and i'd love to go (haven't been since i was 12) but i'm worried i may be too big for the rides (and would prefer to avoid that embarassment... does anyone have any experience in going and either fitting or not fitting (particularly if you can remember size/weight at the time)...
When I was 290, I couldn't ride many of the coasters - it really depends on how well you fit into the seats. Thankfully, most of them have a seat at the entrance to the ride that you can try out before you wait through the whole line just to find you can't fit. (OR - embarasment! have to be pushed down on so that you can latch the belt/shoulder restraint.) I think at 270 ish, I was still ok to ride most of the rides - it really depends on your body type. NOW that I'm MUCH svelter (181 yesterday!) I can't wait to go!
Hope that helps.
I went in September of last fall. My weight was 225 (height 5'6") and I was wearing a size 18W pants. I fit into every ride I tried and I rode almost everything. It was one of the biggest moments of my life since weight loss surgery.
I did go to Michigan's Adventure last June with hopes of riding a roller coaster for the first time in 15 years, but was disappointed to find that at that time I was still too large to fit. My weight was around 260 and I think I was wearing a size 22 pant.
I hope this helps you make your decision. Cedar Point also has some guidelines you can see here about size.
I hope you get to go and have the time of your life.

Last time I was there I weighed 253. I am 5'4 3/4". I could ride everything but it was a close fit and almost embarrassing. I remember thinking: "If I get any bigger I will not fit".
I cannot wait to go next summer and have no worries!!!!
Best wishes, you can get to a comfy weight for a rollercoaster by then!!!!
